To say Apple is on a hot streak as the current technology leader isn’t just accurate, it’s redundant. For the past few years, arguably since 2009, Apple has not only been leading in innovation, sales, and product design, but it has also been squelching the competition. The stories have become a part of technological lore: The iPod is announced in 2001 and soon becomes not only the best media device, but the only media device with mass market appeal. In 2007, Apple released the iPhone and by 2011 was already selling 4 million devices during opening weekends alone. The iPad was introduced in 2010 to astounding numbers and is now predicted to outsell PCs by 2013. Apple refers to these three devices (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch) as post-PC devices, and if the effects these devices are having on the competition (not to mention sheer numbers of devices sold) are any indication, they will not simply “outgrow” PCs, but completely replace them. Take, for instance, the iPhone. Introduced in 2007, the iPhone began to split worlds immediately. Source: redOrbit (http://s.tt/181gi) [11:52:08 PM] Chief:
